The Dholera smart city plan has been planned and approved by relevant authorities and the execution agency 'Aecom' has sprung into action.
Dholera was declared as the first smart city of India in early 2015. Since then there has been no looking back and the development pace has gained immense momentum. The state government and central government has formed a special purpose vehicle in 50:50 partnership which shall be responsible for supervising the development of Dholera special investment region. While central government has made equity contributions to the project in form of capital, state government is making its contribution by the way of allotting land for the city.
22.5 square kilometer area has been allotted as activation area for development of trunk infrastructure components. This shall layout the basic infrastructure in the city and set up the stage for larger investment flow. Dholera smart city plan consists of six town planning scheme. Such schemes shall ensure collective development of each economic sector in DSIR. Land allocation in each sector shall be done as per the rise in economic activities in them. The city shall be developed in three phases and host a population of 2 million by the end of 2040.
Dholera smart city plan has been envisaged by master minds which ensures that the city shall be loaded with superior amenities and world class infrastructure.
